Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in 13 Warm Beige

When I went out to buy my friend’s birthday gift, I also picked up one of Make Up For Ever’s new Aqua Creams while hitting up Sephora ๐Ÿ™‚

I selected number 13, also known as Warm Beige. Applied on both the eyes and the cheeks, 13 has a very smooth and creamy texture. It blends well, but when I applied too much of 13, I looked somewhat tacky?

Overall I think this is a fun product to play with andย wear timeย is amazing, but I don’t really like something about it. Perhaps its too warm for my skintone? The other day I played around with Shiseido’s Hydropowder Eyeshadows which became a powder once it dried down. I’m not too sure yet if I like colors that aren’t neutrals to pinks hehe ๐Ÿ˜› as of yet, so when I swatched H11 Rose Tulle, I thought WHOAAAAA! ๐Ÿ˜€

H3 reminded me of a really sheer lipstick… So I’m not sure about this color, and whether I would look like I bruised myself? …Idk.

Jill Stuart Brilliance Eyes in 03 Amber Glaze Photos and Swatches

Today I visited SOHO for the first time! ๐Ÿ™‚ย Although it was my first visit to this south-west part of Manhattan, my friend and I were wandering around aimlessly haha.

I managed to find Jill Stuart around 11:07am? and the door was still locked at the time so we moved on. Around lunchtime, we stopped by Sanctuary Tea and reveled in the joy of fellow Americans (in nearby restaurants) as USA scored a goal against Algeria! Wow, what an experience. I have never shared the excitement of a goal with so many people (particularly with the older crowd of 20s-40s, some drinking away but importantly, cheering)!

Regardless, as I had hoped, I purchased my first Jill Stuart product! :Dโ™ฅ

Sorry about the color of the packaging! In real life it is almost a rose-pink rather than this borderline-nude pink.

The material of the case surprised me. I expected a more luxe, cool-to-the-touch, metal packaging, but was rewarded with a metal-plastic casing. Compared to a tube of Chanel Rouge Coco, I expected this palette to be somewhat heavy, but was happy that it was not as big of a burden to carry.

Besides having the Jill Stuart protective film here, I used my camera’s Sunny white balance.

Here is the camera’s Cloudy white balance setting.

Hopefully these last two pictures did not totally confuse anyone, but I’ll say that the 2nd picture produces better color for all the shades in the palette except for the gold. The gold is a lot lighter in real life, not that tan-bronzey? gold color that is shown.

Here are swatches of my first Jill Stuart palette! ๐Ÿ™‚

The texture is DIVINE as countless others before me have said, and the shimmer has such a maturity to it that it is really pleasing, haha. Overall, I am extremely ecstatic about my purchase and I am eager to get my hands on a Jill Stuart dress sometime soon!

P.S. Girls’ Generation (SNSD) also loves Jill Stuart dresses, specifically Tiffany. During Factory Girl, a reality-TVย type of show that had the girls working or interning? at Elle Girl Korea. Four of them, Tiffany, Jessica, Sooyoung and Yuri flew to NYC and visited Clinique Headquarters and Jill Stuart herself! ๐Ÿ˜€ Tiffany proceeded to gush to Jill Stuart about how she (they?) LOVED Jill Stuart LOL!

BTW, there were two girls at Jill Stuart, but sometime after my friend and I approached the Jill Stuart makeup, the other employee left… Anyway, she wrapped my purchase in Jill Stuart tissue paper and sealed it with a sticker.

Chanel quad in Plumes Swatches

So here are the swatches for the Chanel quad in Plumes

I took these pictures on a cloudier day so, sorry about the blue-toned background. Colors 3 and 4 are off, as 3 is much darker in life, and 4 is more brown-grey than blue-black.

The 1st color is a pearlescent/frosty kind of red shimmer which swatched pretty well, the 2nd color has the most shimmer of all 4 colors. I’m not exactly sure how to describe the sparkly specks of pigment, hehe, but this swatched best. The next two colors had bad to worse pigment pay-off. Color number 4 resembles MAC Eyeshadow in Antiqued. This color was actually matte in real life, not too shimmery? Although I can’t really tell as there is shimmer everywhere in that palette (not willing to clean it up) and none in the swatches… I’ll reswatch sometime soon.ย Color number 3 is similar to MAC Grape Pigment the most, and it took forever to pat down that much pigment onto my arm. UGH

Didn’t bother swatching this “SHIMMERING EYE COLOR KIT”

Goodbye to the 1st Half of June

Wow I have come to an end of my Junior Year.

Like upperclassmen before have said, Junior Year is definitely a challenging time, yet it seems to fly by. Now that I am at the end of my time as a Junior, I seem to reflect on what I’ve done successfully and what I’ve failed.

I am at a point where deciding who shall be the teachers I use for recommendations has brought my mood down but I am anticipating Field Day, my friend’s birthday party and the end to a relatively short year.

I must admit, this year felt the shortest in comparison to freshman and sophomore year :O Very strange.

Moreover, I made a lot more friends and developed more self-esteem and confidence even if I gained more weight. From freshman year, I gained 17lbs. due to exercising (which managed to tone specific muscle groups) and by not playing these days, I lost the muscle mass which, for the most part, converted to fat ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Except in my legs… I think.

Now here are some of my pictures that I have taken so far ๐Ÿ™‚

Lemonade at Houston’s

Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice

LOOK AT ALL THAT FROTH! ๐Ÿ˜€

My mom, my friend, my other friend & her mom went to Houston’s to sort of celebrate my other friend’s 18th birthday. Although at school, we ate a cake and had a great time as this big group of Juniors, the 3 of us were secretly treated to an expensive and tasty meal at Houston’s haha. I hope to visit Houston’s with my friends more often next year!

BUBBA burger is so freaking amazing

AHHHH ITS MEAT! LOL
Hey look, funky-shaped burgers!

Cooking; it was still sizzling but the photo made the burgers look as though they were done cooking and lolling in their own oil but they were still cooking away…

Mom threw the buns in a separate pan to become firm, crisp and browned

์™„์„ฑ! COMPLETE! ๐Ÿ˜€

Supposedly a Chanel quad; found in Mom’s drawer. Will ask sometime if it is real because I looked it up online and there is no palette called,

PRUNES ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Soon enough, I will post reviews of items in my makeup collection and new items such as my MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream in #13 which does not suit my skintone.

2things

One, I realized that I should put a disclaimer of some sort into my wishlist posts because while they ARE wishlists of mine, they highlight what I’ve found recently that I think should be shared with those who haven’t seen it yet…

And two, so far my blog has been photos of these products from their respective websites, but now, I’ll be getting to swatching and reviewing what I have… Although we’ll have to wait until at LEAST this Saturday. Sorry for the hold-up ๐Ÿ˜
