I forget when this performance took place but I noticed their interesting nails because fans were able to take high quality pictures of the girls (as always). However, since I do not have the original versions of these images, the details on the nail isn’t exactly clear.

Although I did find a close-up on Yoona’s nails

Sort of. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I shall dig for photos with more details.

When I saw that Yoona’s mic had a #3 on it, I was honestly surprised. I went, “Whoa! They label SNSD’s mics with numbers on them?” and realized that they were numbered either to keep the mics as a set (maybe…not) or to know who is holding which mic, allowing the staff to according adjust audio…

Moreover, get your hands on black & white nail polish!

To emulate Yoona’s nails, you would need a white polish with a thin brush, or some other method to apply white polish in thin strokes. I’d suggest a toothpick, wooden or plastic, your choice/availability.

However, on Yuri’s 4th finger, there seems to be a grey stripeย diagonallyย across the lower half of the nail bed, but I will confirm if the color is just an effect of the lighting of if it really IS grey. Why? Because comparing Yoona’s nails in the 1st and 2nd picture depicts a HUUUUGE difference. :0 A seemingly mauve/maroon-grey “transforms” into a midnight black…? Sigh, nail polishes are not my forte.

Just as I had planned, I got my hands on Jill Stuart Jelly Eye N! I chose Platinum Satin which is a shimmery pink color that would work well as a quick swipe over my lids or as a base with my Jill Stuart Eyeshadow Palette!

Sorry about the smudges on the cap!

Also, I didn’t like Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream inย Warm Beige because it blends in with my eyelid/lash-line, making my lids very reflective and not “ooh~ pretty glitter” like Jill Stuart’s eyeshadows. Besides, I bought #13 Warm Beige in the first place to emulate SNSD’s Taeyeon & Jessicaย and Davichi’s Kang MinKyung’s eye makeup…

Previously an ulzzang (์–ผ์งฑ = ์–ผ๊ตด ์งฑ! = Face “Best/Amazing/Great!”), Davichi’s Kang MinKyung (๊ฐ•๋ฏผ๊ฒฝ)

Eyelids and Nails! Interesting of her to mix fall nail polish colors…

ใ… ใ…  But this aqua cream lacked the glitter that their makeup had. Instead, Warm Beige was overly shimmery without much depth to the colors of shimmer/glitter that it contained.

(I think I will be using the desk next to my computer for swatching LOL. Pretty accurate!!! This desk was bought at Ikea a couple of years ago…haha)

But now I will try SNSD’s Run Devil Run Makeup using my new Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in #15 Taupe (:

Although her eyelids are of a different color, this is the idea I would follow.
Line my eyes, apply Urban Decay Primer Potion or NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base maybe? and apply the Aqua Cream in Taupe as the base-color and blend blend blend eyeshadows on top of it! (:

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! ๐Ÿ™‚

With my parents, I went “camping for a day” or just BBQing it up with 3 other pairs of parents………. haha

My dad is the type who doesn’t really trust others to “get the job done” so his decision to stay the night at a nearby hotel was a pleasant surprise. The hotel was still being refurnished but the campground’s owner called ahead of time to inform the hotel’s owner that we needed a place to stay, last minute.

Overall, for safety reasons, I will not include the hotel name but it is over 100 years and very vintage-y furnishing. ๐Ÿ™‚ I was watching House at night with my mom because my dad fell asleep immediately from exhaustion.

Haha anyway, this week has been a blast as I successfully ordered Stereo Rose from the MAC In the Groove Collection online!

I tried swatching Stereo Rose on my arm, but it REALLY did not show up well. D:

Next, I picked up my MAC 129SH (SH = shorter handle so its perfect for girls on-the-go) and applied it on my cheeks. WOW. I have a NARS Orgasm blush but holy cow, this beats Orgasm by miles. I think that the 2010 Version of Stereo Rose is more suited for warm-toned skin, which I think I have? Verdict: My skin-tone is questionable. When it is pale, anything I throw on looks great, pretty, etc. but when I tan a bit, bright or pastel colors suddenly look iffy. Not on my face, but on my legs, I see a lot of green veins so I’m thinking that my skin is warm-toned? Therefore, that may be why NARS Orgasm is a wonderful color, but just doesn’t suit me?

AHAH! Next time I’ll post a swatch comparing Stereo Rose and Orgasm. ๐Ÿ™‚

In addition, I picked up Kate Somerville’s Exfolikate after seeing Christine from Temptalia’s enthusiasm over it. ๐Ÿ˜€ I shall review the samples that I also got from buying Exfolikate (at Neiman Marcus).

A scary green color. It is pretty gritty, but it works really well! My skin did feel a bit sensitive/irritated for the first minute or so but that’s because I failed by using it on dry skin rather than wet skin. Hehe

Cute smiley face
As usual, unexpectedly small… comparison to a standard box of Kleenex Tissues.

Oh and I got around to taking pictures of the nail polish that I’m using. OPI Pink-a-Doodle is beautiful. The color isn’t in your face and it isn’t too sheer. Just what I wanted. Theres an iridescence in the bottle that disappears when applied… similar to the new Chanel Paradoxal Nail Polish? Haha I only applied 2 coats with no top or base coat ๐Ÿ˜› and it chipped a bit on two fingers. Last time, it didn’t chip. AT ALL, and I had it on for a little over a week?
Not the best swatch, so I’m pretty sure I’ll reswatch this in the near future because lighting wasn’t very great today. Too many shadows, but I was eager to show off my quick manicure! ๐Ÿ™‚

When I went out to buy my friend’s birthday gift, I also picked up one of Make Up For Ever’s new Aqua Creams while hitting up Sephora ๐Ÿ™‚

I selected number 13, also known as Warm Beige. Applied on both the eyes and the cheeks, 13 has a very smooth and creamy texture. It blends well, but when I applied too much of 13, I looked somewhat tacky?

Overall I think this is a fun product to play with andย wear timeย is amazing, but I don’t really like something about it. Perhaps its too warm for my skintone? The other day I played around with Shiseido’s Hydropowder Eyeshadows which became a powder once it dried down. I’m not too sure yet if I like colors that aren’t neutrals to pinks hehe ๐Ÿ˜› as of yet, so when I swatched H11 Rose Tulle, I thought WHOAAAAA! ๐Ÿ˜€

H3 reminded me of a really sheer lipstick… So I’m not sure about this color, and whether I would look like I bruised myself? …Idk.

Today I visited SOHO for the first time! ๐Ÿ™‚ย Although it was my first visit to this south-west part of Manhattan, my friend and I were wandering around aimlessly haha.

I managed to find Jill Stuart around 11:07am? and the door was still locked at the time so we moved on. Around lunchtime, we stopped by Sanctuary Tea and reveled in the joy of fellow Americans (in nearby restaurants) as USA scored a goal against Algeria! Wow, what an experience. I have never shared the excitement of a goal with so many people (particularly with the older crowd of 20s-40s, some drinking away but importantly, cheering)!

Regardless, as I had hoped, I purchased my first Jill Stuart product! :Dโ™ฅ

Sorry about the color of the packaging! In real life it is almost a rose-pink rather than this borderline-nude pink.

The material of the case surprised me. I expected a more luxe, cool-to-the-touch, metal packaging, but was rewarded with a metal-plastic casing. Compared to a tube of Chanel Rouge Coco, I expected this palette to be somewhat heavy, but was happy that it was not as big of a burden to carry.

Besides having the Jill Stuart protective film here, I used my camera’s Sunny white balance.

Here is the camera’s Cloudy white balance setting.

Hopefully these last two pictures did not totally confuse anyone, but I’ll say that the 2nd picture produces better color for all the shades in the palette except for the gold. The gold is a lot lighter in real life, not that tan-bronzey? gold color that is shown.

Here are swatches of my first Jill Stuart palette! ๐Ÿ™‚

The texture is DIVINE as countless others before me have said, and the shimmer has such a maturity to it that it is really pleasing, haha. Overall, I am extremely ecstatic about my purchase and I am eager to get my hands on a Jill Stuart dress sometime soon!

P.S. Girls’ Generation (SNSD) also loves Jill Stuart dresses, specifically Tiffany. During Factory Girl, a reality-TVย type of show that had the girls working or interning? at Elle Girl Korea. Four of them, Tiffany, Jessica, Sooyoung and Yuri flew to NYC and visited Clinique Headquarters and Jill Stuart herself! ๐Ÿ˜€ Tiffany proceeded to gush to Jill Stuart about how she (they?) LOVED Jill Stuart LOL!

BTW, there were two girls at Jill Stuart, but sometime after my friend and I approached the Jill Stuart makeup, the other employee left… Anyway, she wrapped my purchase in Jill Stuart tissue paper and sealed it with a sticker.

So here are the swatches for the Chanel quad in Plumes

I took these pictures on a cloudier day so, sorry about the blue-toned background. Colors 3 and 4 are off, as 3 is much darker in life, and 4 is more brown-grey than blue-black.

The 1st color is a pearlescent/frosty kind of red shimmer which swatched pretty well, the 2nd color has the most shimmer of all 4 colors. I’m not exactly sure how to describe the sparkly specks of pigment, hehe, but this swatched best. The next two colors had bad to worse pigment pay-off. Color number 4 resembles MAC Eyeshadow in Antiqued. This color was actually matte in real life, not too shimmery? Although I can’t really tell as there is shimmer everywhere in that palette (not willing to clean it up) and none in the swatches… I’ll reswatch sometime soon.ย Color number 3 is similar to MAC Grape Pigment the most, and it took forever to pat down that much pigment onto my arm. UGH

Bonus pictures of Liz Claiborne Makeup, “distributed by Innovage, Inc. Foothill Ranch, CA 92610” wherever that is. (website is supposedly this crappy site at http://www.innovage.net)

Didn’t bother swatching this “SHIMMERING EYE COLOR KIT”

Wow I have come to an end of my Junior Year.

Like upperclassmen before have said, Junior Year is definitely a challenging time, yet it seems to fly by. Now that I am at the end of my time as a Junior, I seem to reflect on what I’ve done successfully and what I’ve failed.

I am at a point where deciding who shall be the teachers I use for recommendations has brought my mood down but I am anticipating Field Day, my friend’s birthday party and the end to a relatively short year.

I must admit, this year felt the shortest in comparison to freshman and sophomore year :O Very strange.

Moreover, I made a lot more friends and developed more self-esteem and confidence even if I gained more weight. From freshman year, I gained 17lbs. due to exercising (which managed to tone specific muscle groups) and by not playing these days, I lost the muscle mass which, for the most part, converted to fat ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Except in my legs… I think.

Now here are some of my pictures that I have taken so far ๐Ÿ™‚

Lemonade at Houston’s

Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice

My mom, my friend, my other friend & her mom went to Houston’s to sort of celebrate my other friend’s 18th birthday. Although at school, we ate a cake and had a great time as this big group of Juniors, the 3 of us were secretly treated to an expensive and tasty meal at Houston’s haha. I hope to visit Houston’s with my friends more often next year!

BUBBA burger is so freaking amazing

Hey look, funky-shaped burgers!

Cooking; it was still sizzling but the photo made the burgers look as though they were done cooking and lolling in their own oil but they were still cooking away…

Mom threw the buns in a separate pan to become firm, crisp and browned

์™„์„ฑ! COMPLETE! ๐Ÿ˜€

Supposedly a Chanel quad; found in Mom’s drawer. Will ask sometime if it is real because I looked it up online and there is no palette called,

Soon enough, I will post reviews of items in my makeup collection and new items such as my MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Cream in #13 which does not suit my skintone.
