Happy February

Haha it was just yesterday when I thought to myself, “JANUARY WILL NEVER ENDDDDDD” …and it did. And now its February 26th, 2011 LOL. Unbelievable.

Anyway I have tons and tons of product reviews, all backlogged lol. There are still quite a few I haven’t taken swatch photos yet, but it will all come in due time (plus winter = less sunlight time so after class and sports it was impossible).

And the others, which I have taken pictures of, I need to find a way to adjust the lighting, which I always preferred using Photoshop but I’d prefer to not use my school’s computers lol…

I hope you all had a nice Valentine’s day, a relaxing President’s day break from work or school. 🙂

How many people have kept their New Years’ Resolution up until this point? LOL If you have, excellent work! If you haven’t… well you can join thousands of other people who have failed. In my case, I didn’t make a New Years’ Resolution(s) to fail and be discouraged by. Since we are 2 days away from MARCH I will probably begin to watch my weight in order to slim down by the time summer rolls around 🙂

Anticipate more updates~

That means, yes, more Korean entertainment celebrities AND makeup.

Fany^^

Lancome Ombre Magnétique in Black Macadam Review, Photos, Swatches

As I visited a nearby Lancome counter I saw the three Lancome Ombre Magnétiques on display for testing and was instantly sad because I had not ordered online before they sold out …TWICE. However, I happened to look into the glass casing and noticed there were some boxes of the Ombre Magnétique! 😀 So of course, I had to get the black one because it was most versatile.

This product (along with Giorgio Armani’s Eyes to Kill Eyeshadow I presume) has quite the fascinating texture. It may be just me, but I got into beauty merely 2 years ago, and only since last year have I actually been buying quite a lot of makeup/beauty for a student. 🙂

Regardless, Ombre Magnétique feels “gritty” when handling little chunks but when it is applied, it is very smooth and retains a somewhat gel-like consistency. Essentially, it is as though Lancome mixed loose eyeshadow (or pigment!) into an eyeshadow with some binding product to create this.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. On my fingers, it leans slightly blue, and you can see it in the above photo as well. The sparkles are all white, yet there is dimension because the sparkles are capable of reflecting colors in its vicinity (I think). Thus, in this picture, my lighting was natural sunlight and maybe some of the green scenery outside to give it a greenish undertone. However, under the fluorescent lighting indoors, I only noticedthe sparkles reflecting white, because the lighting is white and my ceiling happens to be a plain white! Sounds reasonable, no?

Yes there is fallout, so be cautious when applying but other than that, this is a product that looks great by itself on the eyelid. (Especially for a Korean girl like me, who has no crease to speak of 😦 Therefore, using more than 2 colors is uncommon LOL)

I wonder what the 03G means…

I took a picture of the ingredients if anyone was curious

I really like the sleek, cool-to-the-touch packaging. Its made out of glass and is not a fingerprint magnet. 🙂

I laughed when I saw this plastic barrier/covering sitting on top of the eyeshadow. Totally unexpected.

Hehe, here I became too eager to play with the texture of this “ombre magnétique” rather than preparing myself to photograph my new buy LOL. Quite a common occurrence these days, really… XD

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon Review, Photos, Swatches

LOL I have not posted a single thing on WordPress all of November! Sorry about that, was very busy (still am! …my lovely procrastinating self…sigh) with college applications, essays, finals and whatnot.

Therefore, I am totally backlogged on new products I have bought in the past 2 months. Lots of good things to come 🙂

So, I bought my first Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil from Ulta while picking up a replacement UDPP in Eden as my first one cracked after I dropped it from my clothing drawer. 😥

[I apologize about the bulgy-ness my pictures consist of… I am hoping to get my hands on Panasonic’s GF2 (releasing January 2011) but I will not ask my parents about it until I receive college notifications about my application. Until about March? I will continue to post horrible, fishbowl-esque pictures… yay! ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

PLUS, I apologize about the relative blue-cast of these photos. These were taken around 4-5pm so the sun was beginning to set… Plus, I DO have Adobe Photoshop, but its on my desktop; this is my laptop.]

I love this particular brown shade as it reminds me of chocolate! 😀 But I did not like how it was too soft as I feared creasing and/or shifting on my eye lid. I do not appreciate the chunks of silvery glitter interspersed with the eyeliner.
Verdict: By the end of the day, I had some glitter specks below my eye. I was not pleased.
[I WILL UPDATE THIS POST WITH A PICTURE OF ME + BOURBON AFTER __ # OF HOURS W/O UDPP.]

BoA 보아 Hurricane Venus MV Nails

So BoA finally had her comeback in Korea after spending 5 long years in America and Japan. SM Etertainment’s solo extraordinaire, Kwon BoA 권보아, came back!

Besides BoA’s fine-tuned English pronunciation, she has probably been exposed to the best dancers in America during her stay… :O !

As per usual, SM Entertainment provides BoA with a wonderful wardobe with a myriad of delectable accessories… and to think, BoA is only 23 YEARS OLD! Yes, she looks much older than 23, but shes nearly on par with my lovable SNSD… LOL!

Although it has been a while since BoA came back, I just wanted to point out her nails in the music video for Hurricane Venus. I really love the glove she is wearing in the 2nd picture, it is gorgeous! I am quite jealous of the number of ear piercings BoA has but I am unlikely to get any additional ones :(.

Regardless, the camera never(?) focused on the thumb in the first picture (and even the pinkie is rather unclear here). The second utilizes a variety of styles rather than using altering the colors like in the first picture. I think there are crystals or glitter on the thumb and the 2nd finger in the second picture.

NARS Rajasthan Eyeshadow Duo Review, Swatches, Photos

As I read the major beauty blogs on the net rave about how much they loved NARS Rajasthan, how it was such an unexpected(?) hit… I could not help but go buy one for myself! 😀

1 Word, WOW. They were definitely NOT kidding.

direct sunlight

not as direct sunlight

I love both shades of the eyeshadow duo. Excellent pigmentation, non-existent fall out and even in the pan, I don’t “scuff” up excess eyeshadow! 😀 A big plus for NARS this fall 2010 season.

Swatched on my bare arm (with NARS Orgasm and MAC Stereo Rose just for fun haha)
Sorry about the visibility of my arm pores LOL. I have a bit of arm hair so pigmentation is slightly so-so in some areas.

Swatched on a makeup sponge (sold in 15-packs from CVS)

As soon as I had my hands on Rajasthan, I took it out of its packaging and simply admired the duo. The taupey-bronze paired with the darkened-teal-black seemed to underscore the brilliance of this duo. However, when I got home and swatched Rajasthan on my arm, I was dismayed as the teal color was muddy, sheer, and flat. 😦 Thus, I was quite surprised to see all the shimmer and pigmentation shown on the sponge above, gleaming in the light.
On the other hand, I was not surprised at the left-side’s overall excellence in pigmentation, payoff and wear. Applied on top of Urban Decay Primer Potion, the taupey-bronze color lasted approx. 9 hours!
Overall, I really love this duo, and will continue to use this for years to come ❤ In addition, the packaging of my particular Rajasthan Duo is quite curious. In the second picture of this post, along the center, there is a weird bronze discoloration. At first, I thought that it was the taupe color, but upon closer inspection and cleaning/rubbing, it did not disappear, and I have concluded that it is just… part of the palette. :O Albeit this strange feature, I must say that, for those of us who are unsure whether or not they should take the plunge to grab this duo, I SAY GO NOW! NARS’s “limited edition” products DO remain in stock for a long time after, but in case Mr. NARS does pull this product, you will have your own Rajasthan Eyeshadow Duo, right? 😀
As a bonus, here are sponge swatches of NARS Orgasm and MAC Stereo Rose, respectively.
